These are often referred to as the car’s “black box.” This device stores information like speed, braking, and even, in some cases, visual data.
Our team worked quickly to locate and recover the EDR before the car was lost or repaired. What we found made all the difference. The Toyota’s Lane departure system had alerted the EDR to capture images of the road seconds before the crash. Our client was clearly visible in the marked crosswalk. The data also showed the driver was speeding.
These two pieces of evidence turned the case around.
